    Hi @Beau Hammet,

Thank you for posting your question to Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Microsoft Create has a library of customizable letterhead templates, each of which provide an easy-to-update starting place for your personal letterhead vision. However, if you want to create one for your own from scratch, please follow the steps below:

    1/ Create a header:

    • Open a blank Word document.
    • On the Insert menu, select Header, then the Blank option.

    User's image

    • To add your logo, select Insert > Pictures then navigate to your logo’s location.
    • Place your logo in the header and resize it to fit.
    • After your image is sized, add your text, if applicable.

    2/ Create a footer

    • On the Insert menu, select Footer.
      User's image
    • Select your preferred footer style from the list of options.
    • Replace the placeholder text with your own content.
    • Format your text to match your firm’s visual language.

3/ Save your letterhead as a template

    • On the File menu, select Save a Copy.
    • Type a name for the document. For example “Letterhead template.”
    • In the document type drop-down list, select Document Template (*.dotx).
      User's image
    • Select Save.

It depends on whether you are preparing a template for pre-printed letterhead or having it all print from Word. There are tried and true methods for this.

Please take a look at the following:

None of the letterhead templates from Office are worthwhile as far as making good use of Word features goes. They look nice, but that is about it.

The links above handle having material on the sides and having different material on continuation pages. They handle picking up information from the body to include in headers on continuation pages as well.

To create a formal letterhead template in Microsoft Word, you can follow these general steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Word and create a new document.
    2. Insert Header: Go to the "Insert" tab and select "Header". You can choose a pre-designed header or create a custom one.
    3. Add Your Firm's Logo: Click on "Pictures" in the header section to insert your firm's logo. Resize it as necessary.
    4. Include Firm Details: Add your firm's name, address, phone number, email, and website in the header. You can format this text using different fonts and sizes to make it visually appealing.
    5. Design Elements: You can add lines or shapes to enhance the design of your letterhead. Use the "Shapes" option under the "Insert" tab for this.
    6. Save as Template: Once you are satisfied with the design, save the document as a template. Go to "File" > "Save As" and select "Word Template" from the file type options.

This will allow you to use the letterhead template for future documents without having to recreate it each time.
