Honestly, all I resorted to doing was remove the new printer from my pc and problem solved. All this time I wasted trying to speak to a live agent from Microsoft Customer Assistance is stupid. Seems like it's mission impossible trying to call to Microsoft service and speak to someone who could guide you step by step into what could help you solve the issue. So thank you for nothing !!!
Issues with PDF converting and printing files
Hello. I have an hp pc. I recently installed a wireless hp printer (HP Envy 6155e) and since then every time I try to convert a file to PDF format, the file just goes on and on in circles and fails to convert to PDF. Also, whatever file I try to print, the printer is not working. I need to speak to an agent to guide me through some of the issues I may have and help me solve them

2026-02-27T07:53:03.08+00:00 Dear Javier Moreno,
Thank you for your question and for sharing the details into Microsoft Q&A Forum.
I understand how disruptive this is, especially when both Print to PDF and printing to your new wireless HP printer stop working right after the installation. To help narrow this down, could you please share a few details below?
- How are you converting to PDF? By File > Print > Microsoft Print to PDF or Export/Save As PDF inside an app (Word/Excel/Browser/etc.) Please tell me which app you are using (e.g., Word, Excel, Chrome, Adobe, etc.).
- When you try to print, what status do you see in the print queue? “Printing…”, “Error”, “Offline”, “Paused”, or “Spooling…”
- Does Microsoft Print to PDF appear in: Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners?
- Are you able to print a Windows Test Page? Printers & scanners > your printer > Printer properties > Print Test Page
In the meantime, here are a few basic steps you can try:
- Verify PDF conversion using “Microsoft Print to PDF”
- Open Notepad and type a short line of text.
- Press Ctrl + P > select Microsoft Print to PDF.
- Save the file to Desktop with a simple name like test.pdf and check again
- Restart the Print Spooler service
- Press Win + R, type:
services.msc, then press Enter. - Find Print Spooler > Right-click > Restart.
- Try printing and converting to PDF again.
- Clear stuck print jobs
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select your HP printer > Open print queue.
- Cancel all pending jobs.
- Confirm the default printer and disable auto-management
- Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Turn OFF: “Let Windows manage my default printer”.
- Temporarily set Microsoft Print to PDF as default and test PDF conversion.
- Then set your HP Envy 6155e as default and test printing.
- Re-add the HP printer
- Settings > Printers & scanners > select the HP printer > Remove.
- Restart the PC.
- Go back to Printers & scanners > Add device and add the HP printer again.
- After adding, try Print Test Page and Print to PDF
- Run the built-in Printer troubleshooter
- Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters
- Run Printer troubleshooter and apply any recommended fixes.
While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.
I hope these steps help resolve the looping PDF conversion and get printing working consistently again on Windows 11. Wishing you a smooth experience completing your print jobs and generating PDFs without further interruptions.
