"Planner" is no longer showing up as a Microsoft App in Loop

My team uses the following Microsoft apps for our project management: To Do, Planner, and Loop. We have multiple plans (basic) in Planner and up until two days ago, I was able to link a Plan in Microsoft Loop in our various workspaces and pages. However, as of September 24, the linked plans appeared "broken" and the ability to choose "Planner" from linkable Microsoft Apps is no longer available in Loop. I've included a screenshot below. The highlighted section used to include "Planner" as an option and it no longer does.

I can confirm I am logged into my business account and the plans in Planner are "basic".

    Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum, and I’m truly sorry to hear about the experience you’re encountering. 

    I’ve tested this in my own environment and can confirm that the Planner option is also missing from the Microsoft Loop interface just as you described.

    After further investigation, I found a related service incident listed in the Service Health Dashboard (a tool within the Microsoft 365 Admin Center that provides real-time updates on service availability and issues across Microsoft 365 apps). Microsoft has confirmed a service incident that began on September 18, 2025, which has disabled the Planner component option in Microsoft Loop.  

    This issue is tracked under incident PL1154805: User's image While Microsoft is working on a permanent fix, you can still view or edit Planner content in Loop using this workaround:  

    • In Planner, open the desired plan. 
    • Click … (More options) > Copy link to plan
    • Paste the URL directly into your Loop page. 

    Although this won’t display the full Planner component UI, users can click the link to open and interact with the plan in Planner. 

    No user action is required beyond applying this workaround. Microsoft is actively working on a resolution, and the Planner component will be restored automatically once the fix is deployed. For ongoing updates, administrators can monitor the Service Health Dashboard in their tenant.

    Hi all,

    I had my company open a ticket to Microsoft and I had a call with one of their Project/ Planner Engineers. They reported back the following, which comes from message centre post MC1193421.

    Features that will be retired as we pursue a long-term plan to bring equivalent capabilities:

    • Planner component in Loop pages.
    • This control, which could previously be inserted by typing /planner in a Loop workspace or pasting the link to a Plan, was one of the available options. This control will be retired between mid‑January 2026 and mid‑February 2026.
    • Loop pages support various options for capturing task information. We recommend the Task List Control in Loop to capture tasks.
    • After the retirement of this control, which is expected to begin in January 2026 and will roll out independent of the Planner update rollout, it will no longer be possible to add a new component of this type in a Loop workspace.
    • Workspaces where these components were already present will display the Planner plan URL where the component was previously located.
      • Tasks previously entered in these components will remain available in Planner.
