Hello.
I'm struggling to delete my Microsoft account, here's what I tried.
I followed this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/how-to-close-your-microsoft-account-c1b2d13f-4de6-6e1b-4a31-d9d668849979 which led me to https://account.live.com/closeaccount.aspx
First roadblock
This is confusing because I have no joined any work organisations using my personal Microsoft account. I went to 'Go to my work organisation' and clicked on 'Leave'.
Second roadblock
I then found https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/external-id/leave-the-organization where it took me to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/organizations
It says I cannot leave my home organisation, which is confusing because it's a personal account?

Dear @Eray Chumak,
Thank you for providing the details and the screenshot. I understand the frustration your personal Microsoft account is incorrectly flagged as belonging to a work organization, and the normal "Leave" option isn't working. This is a known issue when a Microsoft account becomes linked to an Azure AD tenant that has since been deleted or deactivated.
The core problem is that your personal account has a "home organization" attached to it that you cannot leave on your own, creating a loop that prevents account closure.
Please try accessing the Organizations page directly
Please follow this document: Manage organizations for a work or school account in the My Account portal - Microsoft Support
If you see the message "Your organization has been deleted. You cannot access your organization anymore" or if there is no "Leave" button, this means your account is stuck with a home organization that no longer exists. When this happens, you cannot fix it yourself only Microsoft support can remove the association from their backend.
You need to contact Microsoft Support and request that they manually unlink your personal Microsoft account from the orphaned Azure AD tenant.
When contacting support, provide them with your personal Microsoft account email address, a clear explanation: "My personal Microsoft account is incorrectly linked to a work organization that has been deleted. I cannot leave the organization myself because it no longer exists, and this is preventing me from closing my account." and mention that the "Leave" option is not available because the tenant is inactive or deleted.
How to reach support:
If you cannot log in to submit a ticket, use the Microsoft Account Recovery or Contact Support Without Signing In option if available.
Microsoft Support agents have the ability to remove the organization association from your account on the backend. This is a known issue, and while it may take some persistence, they can resolve it. Be prepared to verify your identity during the call.
Please let me know if you encounter any specific error messages while trying to delete the tenant, and I will be happy to guide you further.
