A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Hi Bill
Thank you for reaching out.
Based on the information provided, this does not appear to be a permissions issue, since the shared business files and Quick Access links are visible in both OneDrive on the web and Microsoft 365 online. The more likely cause is that the affected PC is not currently syncing the required SharePoint or OneDrive for Business library locally.
Although both computers are signed in with the same Microsoft 365 account, SharePoint libraries and shared folders must be configured separately on each device. A library that is synced on one PC will not automatically appear on another PC.
Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1/ Sync the SharePoint/business library again
On the affected Windows 11 computer:
- Open the relevant SharePoint site, Microsoft Teams Files tab, or Document Library in a web browser.
- Navigate to the library that should appear in File Explorer.
- Select Sync.
- When prompted, allow the site to open in OneDrive.
- Wait several minutes for synchronization to complete.
- Check File Explorer again.
The corporate (building) icon typically appears when a SharePoint document library is successfully synced to the local device.
2/ If these are shared folders, use “Add Shortcut to My files”
If the missing content consists of folders shared with the user rather than an entire SharePoint library:
- Sign in to OneDrive on the web.
- Open Shared.
- Select the shared folder.
- Click Add shortcut to My files.
- Allow OneDrive time to synchronize.
Shared folders generally need to be added as shortcuts before they appear in File Explorer.
3/ Confirm the work account is connected in OneDrive
- Click the OneDrive cloud icon in the system tray.
- Select Settings.
- Open the Account tab.
- Confirm that the user's Microsoft 365 work account is listed.
If the account is missing:
- Select Add an account.
- Sign in using the Microsoft 365 business account.
- Complete the setup and allow synchronization to begin.
4/ Unlink and re-link OneDrive
If the account is present but the library still does not appear:
- Open OneDrive Settings.
- Go to Account.
- Select Unlink this PC.
- Sign in again with the Microsoft 365 business account.
- Return to the SharePoint library and select Sync again.
Note: Unlinking OneDrive does not remove any files stored in the cloud. It only resets the local sync relationship.
5/ Reset OneDrive if needed
If the issue persists, reset the OneDrive client:
Press Windows + R and run:
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
If that path does not work, try:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
Then restart OneDrive from the Start menu and sync the SharePoint library again.
For reference: Reset OneDrive | Microsoft Support
Because the business library is visible on the web but not in File Explorer on the affected computer, the most likely resolution is to re-establish the local SharePoint/OneDrive sync relationship by clicking Sync from the SharePoint document library or re-adding the shared folders as shortcuts.
I hope this helps. If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you, and I wish you a quick resolution to the issue. Have a wonderful day.
