I have accidentally deleted a calendar in Outlook....how can I recover it? I've tried looking in deleted folders, but it's not there.

Dear Jacobs,

Good day, and thank you for reaching out to the Q&A Forum. As a forum moderator, I am not able to access your mailbox to recover it directly from my side. My role here is limited to providing general guidance and steps you can apply from your side. From my research, your primary calendar normally cannot be permanently deleted through standard Outlook actions. So before assuming it is permanently gone, it is worth checking a few possibilities, since in many cases the calendar is simply unchecked or hidden in the calendar pane rather than actually deleted.

1.Check if the calendar is just unchecked or hidden

Often, a calendar that "disappears" has only been unchecked in the calendar pane rather than deleted:

  • Open Outlook > Calendar.
  • In the left pane, expand My Calendars (and any other calendar groups).
  • Look for the missing calendar in the list. If you see it, simply check the box next to it to make it reappear.

2.If it was a shared or another user's calendar

If the calendar belonged to another user or a shared mailbox, the calendar itself is usually not deleted, only your connection to it is removed. To restore it:

  • Go to Add Calendar > Add from directory (or From address book).
  • Re-add the shared calendar from its owner or mailbox.

3.If it was a secondary calendar you created

If you deleted a secondary calendar you had created (not your main calendar), it unfortunately may need to be recreated. When a calendar is removed, Outlook usually prompts for confirmation and offers a brief Undo option right afterward. If that window has passed, the calendar generally cannot be restored and will need to be recreated or re-added.

I hope this information helps clarify the situation and provides you with workable solutions. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments so I can continue to support you. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I'm looking forward to your reply.
