Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi, Aimee McFarland
Since the dashboard shows payment completed, Word may still be using an old license or a different Microsoft account. Also, Microsoft 365 Basic does not include the desktop Word app, while Personal and Family do.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Sign in to Services & subscriptions using the same Microsoft account used for the renewal. Check the full subscription name, status, and next renewal or expiration date.
Close Word and all other Microsoft 365 apps completely. Reopen Word, then select File > Account. Sign out of every account listed and sign back in with the account showing the active subscription. If shown, select Reactivate.
Restart the computer and open Word again. Closing all Office apps after renewal can refresh the subscription status and remove the notice.
If the subscription is Microsoft 365 Personal or Family but Word remains disabled, run the Microsoft 365 activation troubleshooter.
Please confirm the exact subscription name and the wording of the notification if the issue continues.
Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
