i have tried everything. checking for updates, resetting, repairing, reinstalling, checking for windows updates, restarting my pc etc. nothing works and outlook just wont open.

I’m sorry to hear that New Outlook for Windows still will not open, even after you checked for updates, reset and repaired the app, reinstalled it, updated Windows, and restarted your computer. I understand how frustrating this must be, especially after you have already tried the standard troubleshooting steps.

Because you are using New Outlook for Windows, please disregard troubleshooting methods such as Safe Mode, /resetnavpane, COM Add-ins, creating a new Outlook profile, or running SCANPST, as these apply to Classic Outlook.

Please try the following:

Right-click Start, open Task Manager, and end any Microsoft Outlook processes that are still running.
Open the Microsoft Store, search for Outlook for Windows, and open Outlook directly from its Store page instead of using the existing shortcut.
Check whether you can access your mailbox through Outlook on the web. If it works there, you may use the web version temporarily while the Windows app issue is being investigated.
If Outlook briefly appears in Task Manager and then disappears, open Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application, try to open Outlook again, and check the newest relevant event entry.

i have done everything there and nothing comes up in event viewer. the last thing that came up from eventviewer had to do with discord and not outlook. there are no outlook processes open in the task manager. i can access all my emails without problems on the web version of outlook.

Thank you for the update. Since Outlook does not appear in Task Manager and your mailbox works normally on the web, the issue seems limited to the New Outlook app launching on this Windows profile.

Could you please create a new local Windows user account and test whether New Outlook opens there? This will help determine whether the incident is related to your current Windows profile. The Discord entry in Event Viewer is likely unrelated unless it appeared at the exact time you tried to open Outlook.

my apologies for the late response, had a little emergency to attend to. i will make a new local user account today and see if it works there or not.

update on the situation. the issue is not found in the new local user account. it opens just fine on there.

Thank you for testing this and sharing the result. Since New Outlook opens normally under the new local Windows account, this confirms that the incident is specific to your original Windows user profile.

As a final attempt on the affected profile, please close Outlook completely, press Windows key + R, enter the following command, and select OK:

olk.exe --clearLocalState

Please note that this resets New Outlook’s local data, including cached settings and saved accounts, so you may need to sign in and add your accounts again.

If New Outlook still does not open afterward, the most practical solution would be to continue using the new Windows account and transfer your personal files to it, since repairing or resetting the Outlook app has already been unsuccessful.

Please let me know the result after running the command.

after clearing the local data it still doesnt open. i think this windows profile has been corrupted in some way making it unable to load up outlook on this profile. i shall recreate this main account as a new admin and continue using that one as the main account.
