Word, Excell won't save documents

On my MacBook air, I have a new problem. Word won't create a new document or save an existing one. Excel has the same problem.

Open Word, select Word > About Microsoft Word, and check whether it shows Activated. Then sign out of Office, restart the Mac, and sign back in with the account that owns the Microsoft 365 subscription or Office license.

If it still does not work, use the official Office license removal tool, then reopen Word and sign in again. Make sure you know the correct account and password before doing this.

Create a temporary Mac user account under Apple menu > System Settings > Users & Groups, sign in to that account, and test Word or Excel. If saving works there, the issue is likely limited to the original Mac profile.
