I am writing to formally request the inclusion of the Bengali (Bangla) language in Microsoft’s voice dictation system. Bengali is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, with over 270 million speakers globally. It holds deep historical and cultural significance, particularly for Bangladesh, a country that emerged through a language movement.

Bangladesh is the only nation in history where people fought and sacrificed their lives to protect their mother tongue. In recognition of this, UNESCO declared 21st February as International Mother Language Day, honoring the struggle for linguistic rights. However, despite its significance and the vast number of Bengali-speaking users, Windows and other Microsoft platforms still do not support Bengali voice dictation.

As Microsoft products are widely used in the state of West Bengal (India), Bangladesh and among Bengali-speaking communities worldwide, adding Bengali language support in voice dictation and other AI-powered features would be a significant step towards inclusivity and accessibility. Given its historical importance and the vast number of users, we urge Microsoft to prioritize Bengali alongside other major languages in your system.

We appreciate your continuous efforts in improving accessibility and hope that Microsoft will take prompt action to integrate Bengali voice dictation across its platforms. We look forward to your positive response.
