MDI - Deploying and Operating Costs/Limitations

Hi,

I am creating a cost model about Microsoft Defender for Identity. There is not a lot of documentation regarding costs involved. I am aware that MDI is included in the Enterprise Mobility + Security E5 license, but documentation mentioned that it is available as a standalone license as well (I could not find any info about that though). Can anyone please advise me?

Also, is there any operating costs involved using it? (Like a threshold on how many alerts could be triggered, limitation on rules, etc)

Any help would be highly appreciated.

    My understanding is that if you have any of the enterprise licenses mentioned, you are fully covered for MDI (no limit on activity though I think there is a platform limit of 350 DCs). I also assume standalone is based on the number of domain controllers. MDI runs on DCs in one or more forest. No additional charges based on usage. Most inherit licensing through EMSE5.
