Cannot use browser extensions in Edge kiosk mode :(

Hello!

I'm trying to use browser extension in Edge kiosk mode.
Extensions seems not to be available. Page edge://extensions return:

"You don't have authorization to view this page in Kiosk Mode.

ERR_KIOSK_BLOCKED"

Is it somehow possible to enable at least specific extension in Edge kiosk mode?

Notes:

  1. I run Edge with command "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" -kiosk https://hwcrypto.github.io/demo/ --edge-kiosk-type=public-browsing
  2. I get the same result when running Windows 10 or 11 in kiosk mode and use Edge as only application.
  3. In Windows 10 or 11 kiosk mode granting administrative rights to service user does not help.
  4. Forcing extension with group policy (Control which extensions are installed silently) does not help.

Thanks,

UV

    Hi @UV ,

If we refer to the official docs for Edge Kiosk mode, in the limitations section you could notice that extensions are not supported yet.

As extensions are not officially supported in the Edge Kiosk mode, you will not be able use them.

    Best Regards,
    Deepak
