I am trying to add an Windows 10 PC to Azure AD in 'Access work or school'. I am prompted to authorise through MFA which is accepted and then after a few minutes but the error displayed 'Something went wrong. Try again, or Cancel to set up your device later'. This is on a fresh install with the latest windows update. Not offered the option to 'Join' at any stage. I have cleared any reg keys in the under \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Enrollments. Any ideas will be greatfully received.

    @Warren Gleeson ,
    There could be a few reasons why you're encountering this issue when trying to join your Windows 10 PC to Azure AD. Here are some things you can try:

    • Make sure that your Windows 10 PC is connected to the internet.
    • Check if any network restrictions or firewalls could be blocking the connection. You may need to configure your network settings to allow the connection.
    • Make sure that the Global Administrator account you are using to join the PC to Azure AD has the necessary permissions to perform this task.
    • Check if the Azure AD Connect service runs on the domain controller. Start the service and join the PC to Azure AD again if it is not running.
    • Try using a different web browser to see if the issue is specific to a particular browser.
    • If you're using a VPN, try disconnecting from it and see if that resolves the issue.
    • If none of the above steps helped, you may need to gather more information to troubleshoot the issue. You can do this by collecting the following logs:
    • Azure AD Connect sync logs: These logs can be found in the folder C:\ProgramData\AADConnect.
    • Windows Event logs: These logs can be accessed by going to Start > Event Viewer. Look for any error or warning messages related to Azure AD or AADConnect.
    • Azure AD logs: You can collect these logs by using the Azure AD Connect Diagnostics tool.

    Once you have collected these logs, you can review them to see if there are any clues as to why the issue is occurring. You can also try searching online for any known issues or solutions related to your specific problem.

    Hi @Warren Gleeson , I have a few solutions you can try to resolve this. If they don't work I'll open a free support ticket for you. It looks like MFA worked, but for some reason isn't following through. Depending on your error code please review the following 4 threads:

    Each thread has answers that may help you, but they're not 1-1. I think we're most likely going to have to open a support ticket so we can look at your environment, but please let me know.

    Best,
    James

    The issue was actually a BIOS issue. The device I was attempting to add to the Azure AD was an Intel NUC 5i3RYH. It was when I added a different device without issue. I then checked the BIOS version of the NUC and discovered it there was a Feb 2022 update. Once I updated the BIOS the NUC added to the Azure AD without a problem.
