Screen sharing crashes teams app, Fedora 30 Workstation / Gnome desktop / Wayland. As this is Electron, it is worth noting the same problem was not observed using genuine Chrome browser
When the crash occurs, the app "restarts" and may require a new login.(actual process does not finish)
Video and audio work well, did not ask permission to use mic, cam.
Closing the Teams window leaves app running - tray widget sort of thing. Unclear if mic/cam would still be active (hot mic danger zone, perhaps)

@bicycle , thank you for trying out Teams and providing feedback. Unfortunately, Wayland is causing us some issues. If possible, could you switch to X and see if it helps?

Very interested in this issue, Wayland is much preferable and really should work.

Same problem here. XOrg has problem with my video card driver and I must use Wayland, so switching back to X11 is not an option for me.
Apparently, Zoom can do this now, so, come on, Microsoft!

I am also experiencing the reported issue.
Switching back to X is not an option for me and I suspect it is not an option for a large number of people.

So bad we can't use it! In our home computer we have Fedora 31 and even with the option "disable hw acceleration" the screen sharing causes the crash/reboot of teams.
Here in Italy, during the COVID lockdown, teams is an essential instrument for home working!

Microsoft Teams is crashing on Wayland once i try to use screensharing
Gnome, Arch Linux, tested on 20 March 2020. With X11 it works. I don't know how to debug the issue.
The device is a DELL XPS 13 (9570). GPU is Intel UHD Graphics 620.
Is there any workaround for this to use the screensharing feature of Microsoft Teams with Wayland Gnome?

Thanks a lot, the X11 Revival worked for me after reboot, easy!
In my custom.conf file, the line DefaultSession=gnome-xorg.desktop was absent and the revival worked anyway without adding it (Fedora 31).
@Jörg Faschingbauer thank you for sharing these instructions. Just a couple notes on annoyances listed there, they both can be easily switched off from within the client itself.
Just go to settings in Profile menu:
And uncheck the first two settings here
it doesn't work, I tried to remove the flags
