Azure VM names

Hi,

I know I am new in Azure still, but I read the MS VM naming convention documentation and still cannot add valid VM name.

If I want to create a B2s size RHEL vm in the WestEurope region, I added my fancy name first, of course it does not work (vm-quay-we-rhel)
But I followed the explanation (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/vm-naming-conventions) , and I wrote: b4ms-v1 still not valid. Can you plz advice what name can be valid there?

Thank you!

    Hello @GSIMON
You have custom Azure Policy "Restrict Public IP" that prevents creation of your VM
Please check restrictions in your custom Azure Policy
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/governance/policy/overview

Launch the Azure Policy service in the Azure portal by selecting All services, then searching for and selecting Policy.
Select Assignments on the left side of the Azure Policy page. An assignment is a policy that has been assigned to take place within a specific scope.

Looks like there is some policy set on the Resource group in which you are trying to create a VM. It should have policy set up in such a way that it won't allow you to access VM from Public IP address.

So while creating VM, you should configure VM not to use Public IP or connect with admin guy from your team to get more details around this
