Integration Runtime Oracle database connection error ERROR [08S01] : [Socket closed, Connection Dead] | ERROR [HYT00] : [Timeout expired] | ERROR [HY000] : [Network Operation Timed Out]

Question

While connecting to an Oracle database from Azure Data Factory using Integratio Runtime we recieve the following error when executing pipelines that either does "Lookup" functions with typical "select * from ..." queries or in "Data Copy" functions writing to Oracle. The error occurs in roughly 10% of cases and appears to occur randomly. The pipelines are large and does multiple different calls of "Lookup" and "Data Copy" functions, the pipelines that have failed may be re-run sucessfully, fail in different functions which earlier might have succeeded or fail on the same functions. It appears to be some sort of scheduling/timing error though all timeout settings in Oracle has been set to over 10 minutes (The error appears in the timespan of 60-180 seconds after the initiation of one of the aforementioned functions.)

As per your description the issue is not consistent and it needs additional deeper investigation and in-order to do so I would recommend filing a support ticket.

But before going for Support route, I would like you to please review this thread where a similar issue has been reported related to Oracle connector using SHIR - [Integration Runtime Oracle database connection error ERROR 08S01

Where the issue is related to a recent bug with SHIR version >= 5.9.7900.1 <= 5.10.7949.4. And the product team has released a stable version of SHIR with fix for the oracle connection. Hence I would recommend you to please give a try upgrading your SHIR to the latest version - 5.11.7953.1 and see if that helps to resolve your issue.
