Storage space pool no longer assigned drive letter after OS restore

The storage space (mirror) created from two drives with Windows 11 is no longer recognized after downgrading to Windows 10. Both HDD (disk 0 and disk 1) are present in disk management. However, menu is greyed out and unable to assign a drive letter.
How do I restore the storage pool? If not possible, how do I recover the file before recreating the storage pool?

    Hi there,

    You can manually try adding the drive letter.

    Go to Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management and from there identify the disk that represented Storage Spaces > right-click the disk > Change Drive Letter Path> Add and assign another drive letter > click OK.

    The shortcut to get to Computer Management from the start menu search is compmgmt.msc.

    You can also check for restore points and restore the PC to older data and see if it is helpful.

    Thank you for your help.

    Sadly, the dskmgmt menu option for "add and assign another drive letter" is greyed out for both the drives that were part of the storage pool.

    And I made a noob mistake of not creating a system restore prior to re-installing Windows 10...
