SCOM 2019 UR2 installation issue

Hi,

I wanted to install on our first Management Server SCOM 2019 UR2.

Unfortunately it was not successful on the level of "Database Configuration".

we have 4 Management Server and our database servers for SCOM DBs are also on different servers.

I looked at the setup log. But it does not have any good information:

Hi @Leon Laude Leon,

we made rollback of SCOM 2019 UR2 to UR1, and will not deploy UR2 until Microsoft solve the update problems.

Hi all ,

Any update on the above error ,
I have not received this for UR2 but the same is seen on UR 5 . with SCOM 2019 ver

Please share the details if anyone has solution for this error.

Hi @Chandramouli palla

please create a new thread for this. this way it would be visible and many more will reply to it.

In general, if a UR Install through the .exe file fails, you can complete the steps in a manual way.

This means that you can run both T-SQL scripts on your DBs manually.

Hello @Birdal - We would like more details on the issue . Can you please write to us at systemcenterfeedback@microsoft.com with the full log file KB4558752-AMD64-Server.msp.0.log to figure out the root cause?

I followed manual steps and applied SCOM 2019 UR2.
the problem is now that no MPs can be imported into SCOM.
Unfortunately I have no time to write at this moment any feedback. Sorry.

Hello All,

Currently setup is one server for Scom2019 and for SCOMDB.

I applied the UR2 to Scom 2019 but still getting the error message about the Databases Configuration.

Wondering if I need to apply the UR1 instead of UR2 or there is something else?

Also I noticed when I run the EXE the services stopped and found the following error message...

one important question:
Must be both scripts update_rollup_mom_db.sql and UR_Datawarehouse.sql run on SQL databases related to UR2?

There are two (2) SQL script files, one for the Operations Database (update_rollup_mom_db.sql) and one for the Warehouse Database (UR_ Datawarehouse.sql). Both needs to be run.

You only need to run the scripts manually once but they need to be run against the Operations Database & Operations Data Warehouse.

Hi @Birdal ,

if the automatic update did not succeed, then you cannot tell for sure if the scripts have been executed, so running them manually is good idea.
If they have been already run, running them again will not harm your system, so you have noting to lose - just run each script on the DB it is intended for and complete the process.

Hi @Leon Laude ,
the one-click process of SCOM 2019 UR2 is unfortunately not suitable for SCOM infrastructure which use dedicated SCOM database servers.
After I run all UR2 update process manually it worked well. Thank you for your support.

Now there are two additional steps:

import new Management Packs of UR2

update agents

Where can I download the newest MPs for SCOM 2019 UR2? Any download link?

The management packs also renewed once you apply the management server update, you should find the updated management packs which you need to import from the SCOM installation folder, for example::

%SystemDrive%\Program Files\Microsoft System Center\Operations Manager\Server\Management Packs for Update Rollups

For the agents, they should be updated on the management servers once the management server patch is applied, you can also download it from here:

its a broken update as expected from MS
best no details error wht so ever, digging all the logs.
1st time doing this and yet come w this surprise.

so whts next, step 1 done
step 2, run the db scripts manually. no errors... strange

next step 3, how ...

is this UR2 even passed QA test ??? very doubtful.
nowadays MS quality really drop A LOT!

how can I even automated this installation, too fragile.

After UR2 we cannot import any MP into SCOM.
