Hi People,

I have approximately 1000+ users in my company that is still using local home drive mapped as H:\ and the Known Folder redirected to the FileServer using GPO like in the below setting:

User Configuration (Enabled) | Policies | Windows Settings | Folder Redirection | Documents
Setting: Basic (Redirect everyone's folder to the same location)
Path: \FILE-SERVER\userdata$\%USERNAME%\My Documents

User Configuration (Enabled) | Policies | Windows Settings | Folder Redirection | Music
User Configuration (Enabled) | Policies | Windows Settings | Folder Redirection | Pictures
User Configuration (Enabled) | Policies | Windows Settings | Folder Redirection | Videos
Setting: Follow the Documents folder

After reading: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/redirect-known-folders#transition-from-the-windows-folder-redirection-group-policy-objects

Under the If folders have been redirected to a network file share section.

Do I run the migration manager software in the File Server that connects as a bridge between our file server and the one drive tenant so the software will migrate and sync the Home drive from \FILESERVER\userdata$\%USERNAME%\My Documents to each of the users OneDrive?

So which method do I use, Known Folder Move (KFM) or Migration Manager (MM), or both?

Yes, as the steps listed in the article, it is suggested to use both Migration Manager and Known Folder Move.

If you want to migrate all users' existing data in the file server to OneDrive, you can run Migration Manager on your File server, then use "Bulk migration" to migrate data:

More information about Migration Manager, for your reference in case you need:
