I have been searching for solutions but couldn't find. If anyone could help with my current scenario? Example, I have an existing domain forest name contoso.com. Due to organisation requirement, I would like to add a domain with different suffix contoso.org. When deploying the new domain controller, which option should I choose under the 'Select the deployment operation'

  • Add a domain controller to an existing domain
  • Add a new domain to an existing forest
  • Add a new forest

    The best approach is like

    • Create new domain controller and configure the new domain
    • Migrate the Users and machines

    Thank you,

Are you just looking for adding a new name with only change in domain suffix to the users? Then, you can add it under 'Active Directory Domains and Trusts'

Now the new suffix will be ready to be assigned in Active Directory Users and Computers for each user
