Win10 - Server 2019 - Slow files transfer, Interesting work around
Hi All,
We recently installed a Win2019 fileserver on vsphere
Soon after wards we were getting reports of very slow files transfers on all the file shares.
Most but not all PC's were affected,
copying a 1GB file from share to desktop was bouncing between 0 and 3MB/s on a 1GB ethernet LAN and taking 14mins
Logging on to the server and dragging the file off the PC was perfect as was VM to VM (on the same host)
The Solution or rather work around was to go into your adapter settings on each PC and enable "allow other users to connect through this computers internet connection" once that was ticked speed return to normal. The other Adapter is not connected to anything.
Anyone know a better way to resolve the issue ?

In regards to your issue, here're my suggestions:
You can Disable “Large Send Offload (LSO)”
Large Send Offload is a technique of improving network performance while at the same time reducing CPU overhead. Apparently it does not work very well, so it was suggested to disable it. LSO is an option located in a Device Manager under your network adapter, so this solution requires Administrator Privileges.
If you would like to know about LSO, check this MSDN article from 2001
ff564239(v=vs.85)Follow these steps:
Control Panel> Device Manager> Network Adapters> Advanced tab
Select Large Send Offload V2 (IPv4) and set the value to Disabled
Do the same for Large Send Offload V2 (IPv6) if it is available
The following link is a Slow files transfer-case sloved by disabling “Large Send Offload (LSO)”. Please refer to:
