Hi, this is probably answered or perhaps a tall question. What would be the difference/benefits between using HDInsight HBase vs Databricks. Azure storage is definitely one. If the aim is to have the convenience of traditional table & sql with add/update/delete over structured data (+ versioning), that seems to be possible in both. Thanks

    Hello @AKM ,

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

Firstly, there is no way to compare Azure HDInsight HBase with Azure Databricks.

Hbase is one of the original noSQL modeled on bigtable pre hadoop. It's better to compare with Cassandra /cosmos.

Hbase and Databricks really don't have much in common. Add/update/delete are possible in both but I'd rather understand first in your use case if it's more convenient a SQL vs noSQL database. If noSQL is your choice then you can compare HBase with Cosmos for instance. Databricks will be useful if you want to perform data analytics operations more complex then simple HBase key value queries.

Hope this will help. Please let us know if any further queries.
