Candidates for this exam should possess expertise in using GitHub Copilot to improve software development productivity, quality, and security. This includes responsible AI use, prompt engineering, Copilot features across various plans, and privacy safeguards. Candidates should also be familiar with GitHub fundamentals and have experience with one or more programming languages.

Important
GitHub certifications are valid for 2 years. GitHub is transitioning to Microsoft’s recertification process, which will provide a new way for candidates to maintain their certifications without retaking the full certification exam.
To ensure candidates are not impacted during this transition, all GitHub certifications that expire before the new recertification process is available will be extended by 6 months. If your certification has already expired, please reach out to learn@github.com and we will provide you with one exam voucher to cover the cost of your first renewal attempt.
Once the new recertification process is in place, candidates will be able to use Microsoft’s recertification process to maintain their active GitHub certifications.
