Monitoring file/directory creation/deletion in MOM

If you want to monitor file/directory creation or deletion you can create a custom WMI provider for that. Example:

SELECT * FROM __InstanceDeletionEvent

WITHIN 60

WHERE TargetInstance ISA ‘CIM_DirectoryContainsFile’

AND TargetInstance.GroupComponent = ‘Win32_Directory.Name=”C:\\\\Temp\\\\”’

  By the way I like your posting about using perl with MOM. A long time ago I used an open source monitoring tool completely written in Perl. You should have a look at http://bigsister.sourceforge.net/. I even programmed (Delphi) a tool for that called BStray ;-)

  The date AFAIK when blogging in Word 12 Beta is something like 3h ahead (blogs.technet is community server 2.0). I don't care much about it, though it clearly is a but. Besides I have problems uploading pictures (due to my FTP site's configuration), but I should work it out sooner or later:)
