me WPC is just plainly a huge networking opportunity and this manifests in many forms.

Every year a number of groups thank the partners for their time and attention by running parties. It is a mystery to me how this happens but a a collective decision is reached and “the” party to attend is decided on. This year the clear winner was the ISV party where  a good time was had by all. I would’nt want to claim to be uncool but I was unable to make the party, and enjoyed a very nice dinner with one of our PAC partners.

Meetings this year have been better than ever, the feedback on the WPC “Connect” tool has been positive. Partners have been using the meeting tool to target like minded partners in disciplines, regions and verticals. In fact the question was asked if the Connect tool could remain open throughout the year!

I personally have had a number of great meetings with partners and have gained further insight on how partners are driving our business forward.

For instance it was noted that in some regions that is was easier to sell EPM when a customer had bought CRM, analysis required to see if this is the case and  I look forward to your observations!. It was suggested that whiles the EDGE program has yielded great results for building sales opportunities to partner

it would be beneficial at no additional cost extend the normal period of one month to four to six. This makes perfect sense given the normal sale cycle of an SI sales is about this. ISV typically have a shorter sales cycle.

The meetings have been great and listening to feedback I hear that some partners have been unable to book a slot. I have therefore re-engineered my diary and cleared more space for Thursday. For the more casual meeting I will be around the Project booth for the rest of the day. On the subject of feedback, for people attending our formal sessions, please provide your formal feedback via the WPC feedback process, we really appreciate it.
