Introducing the Visual Studio ALM Rangers – Wouter de Kort
This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. SeeRanger Index (Who is Who?)for more details.
I'm a lead architect and consultant working at Sogeti in the Netherlands. I focus on helping customers adopt ALM practices. In addition to working at Sogeti, I have my own company, Seize IT. Through Seize IT I wrote a couple of books for Microsoft Press on C#, Azure and Windows Apps. I'm also a Microsoft Certified Trainer for the whole Microsoft Web Stack. You can reach me at twitter (@wouterdekort) or on my blog: https://wouterdekort.blogspot.com
What makes you "tick"?
I love learning new stuff. I constantly try to stay up to date with all new developments in software development. After I have learned something new I love to share with others. Giving presentations or training to a willingly group of people, helping a customer understand a solution for his problems or just having the ability to play with a new technology are the reasons I started in software development.
I currently live in a place called Groningen in the Netherlands with my wife Elise. I feel at home when I have a couple of good friends around me.
Why are you active in the Rangers program?
I love sharing knowledge and learning new stuff with other passionate people.
What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?
I'm currently working on project to leverage Azure IaaS with a manual installation of TFS or to extend Visual Studio Online. This is something I’ve already worked on for a customer and Azure is just a great fit for creating dev/test environments and other scenarios that can really benefit customers.
