Pokud v oblasti, ve které existuje podřízený prvek, neexistuje žádný text, vrátí se degenerovaná (prázdná) oblast.

Parametr childElement je buď podřízeným objektem AutomationElement přidruženým k TextPattern matici nebo z pole podřízených položek objektu TextPatternRange.
