Počínaje rozhraním .NET Framework 2.0 doporučujeme vytvářet XmlReader instance pomocí XmlReader.Create metody, abyste mohli využívat nové funkce.

Tato vlastnost představuje xml:lang obor, ve kterém se nachází aktuální uzel. Tady je například fragment XML s xml:lang nastavenou na angličtinu USA v kořenovém elementu:
