Additional Requirements and Information
Exchange Server also has supportability requirements for some of its prerequisites, namely .NET Framework and Windows PowerShell.
.NET Framework
Exchange Server 2019 CU14 (2024 H1 CU) supports .NET Framework 4.8.1 and .NET Framework 4.8. Exchange Server 2019 CU13 only supports .NET Framework 4.8.
Exchange Server 2016 only supports .NET Framework 4.8.
Windows PowerShell
Exchange Server 2019 and Exchange Server 2016 support only the version of PowerShell included in Windows Server. Exchange Server doesn't support the use of Windows Management Framework (WMF) add-ons on any version of Windows PowerShell or Windows. If there are other installed versions of Windows PowerShell or PowerShell Core that support side-by-side operation, Exchange Server will use only the version that it requires.
