Creates an iDNS Server configuration for a Network Controller.

Description

The New-NetworkControllerIDnsServerConfiguration cmdlet creates an Internal DNS (iDNS) server configuration for a Network Controller.

Example 1

$iDNSProperties = New-Object Microsoft.Windows.NetworkController.InternalDNSServerProperties
New-NetworkControllerIDnsServerConfiguration -Properties $iDNSProperties -ResourceId "iDNSConfiguration" -ConnectionUri https://networkcontroller

The first command creates an iDNS server properties object. For a real deployment, you need to specify values in the object. For more information, see Internal DNS Service.

The second command creates the iDNS server configuration for the specified Network Controller.

Specifies the digital public key X.509 certificate of a user account that has permission to perform this action. Specify this parameter only if you run this cmdlet on a computer that is not part of the network controller cluster.

This thumbprint must also be provided in the ClientCertificateThumbprint parameter in the Install-NetworkController or Set-NetworkController cmdlet so that Network Controller can authorize this user.

The thumbprint must be provided only if the network controller client authentication is X509 certificates. Get-NetworkController retrieves that client authentication and authorization information.
