Description

The Set-NetworkControllerAuditingSettingsConfiguration cmdlet sets firewall auditing settings on Network Controller.

Firewall auditing records any flow processed by Software Defined Networking (SDN) firewall rules. It records all ACLs that have logging enabled. These logs can be used for diagnostics or archived for later analysis.

Examples

Example 1: Set auditing properties on a NetWork Controller

$AuditProperties = New-Object Microsoft.Windows.NetworkController.AuditingSettingsProperties
$AuditProperties.OutputDirectory = "C:\test\log1"
Set-NetworkControllerAuditingSettingsConfiguration -Properties $AuditProperties -ConnectionUri https://networkcontroller

This example sets a log location for a network controller.

The first command creates an auditing settings properties object.

The second command assigns a value for an output directory to the object.

The third command sets the properties in the AuditingSettingsProperties object for the Network Controller.

This thumbprint must also be provided in the ClientCertificateThumbprint parameter in the Install-NetworkController or Set-NetworkController cmdlet so that Network Controller can authorize this user.

The thumbprint must be provided only if the network controller client authentication is X509 certificates. Get-NetworkController retrieves that client authentication and authorization information.
