Configuring a Domain Controller

This section provides steps for configuring the domain controller. The domain controller runs the Active Directory directory service and Authorization Manager to handle security for all servers and devices on a network, and permissions and log on authentication for users.

Do not install Commerce Server 2007 on a domain controller. Commerce Server 2007 does not support installations on a domain controller. For more information about how to install Windows Server 2003 as a domain controller, visit https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=62411.

Follow these steps to configure the Domain Controllers:

  1. Install Active Directory and DNS. For more information, see How to Install Active Directory and DNS.

  2. Setup domain accounts and groups. For more information, see the following topics:
