IDTSBuffer100.GetBLOBLength Method

Gets the number of bytes contained in a column in an IDTSBuffer100.

Namespace:  Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline.Wrapper
Assembly:  Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap (in Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Sub GetBLOBLength ( _
    hRow As Integer, _
    hCol As Integer, _
    <OutAttribute> ByRef pdwBytes As UInteger _
)
'Usage
Dim instance As IDTSBuffer100
Dim hRow As Integer
Dim hCol As Integer
Dim pdwBytes As UInteger

instance.GetBLOBLength(hRow, hCol, pdwBytes)
void GetBLOBLength(
    int hRow,
    int hCol,
    out uint pdwBytes
)
void GetBLOBLength(
    [InAttribute] int hRow,
    [InAttribute] int hCol,
    [OutAttribute] unsigned int% pdwBytes
)
abstract GetBLOBLength :
        hRow:int *
        hCol:int *
        pdwBytes:uint32 byref -> unit
function GetBLOBLength(
    hRow : int,
    hCol : int,
    pdwBytes : uint
)

Parameters

  • hCol
    Type: System.Int32
    The handle of the column in the row.
  • pdwBytes
    Type: System.UInt32%
    An out parameter that contains the number of bytes in the row.

Remarks

The GetBLOBLength method is used to determine the number of bytes in a column that contains a binary large object (BLOB) data type, such as a DT_IMAGE. This method is typically called before a call to the GetBLOBData method. The third parameter to GetBLOBData is the number of bytes to retrieve from the BLOB. You call this method before calling GetBLOBData to retrieve all the bytes in a BLOB column.
