How to: Add or Delete a Folder [Model Designer]
To modify a report model, the model project must be open in Microsoft Business Intelligence Development Studio. You can add a folder to a model or to a model item. For example, you can add a folder to a model and it will be listed, along with the other entities in the model, in the Explorer pane of Report Builder. If you add a folder to an entity, folder, or perspective, the folder is listed with the other fields in the Fields area of the Explorer pane.
To add a folder to a model
In the tree view of the Report Model window, click the report model, on the Reporting Model menu, click New Folder.
Right-click the folder, click Rename, and then type a name for the folder.
In the Properties area, assign the properties to the folder.
To add a folder to a model item
In the tree view of the Report Model window, click the report model item and on the Reporting Model menu, click New Folder.
Note
Alternatively, you can add a folder to a model item by right-clicking the report model item, pointing to New and then clicking Folder.
Right-click the folder, click Rename, and then type a name for the folder.
In the Properties area, assign the properties to the folder.
To delete a folder
- Right-click the folder, and then click Delete.
