Find a certificate

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To find a certificate

  1. Open the Certificates console for the user, computer, or service you want to manage.

    Tip

    For instructions on creating a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) that allows you to manage the certificates of a user account, computer account, or service account, see the appropriate article from the following list

  1. On the console tree, click Certificates - Certificate Holder, where Certificate Holder is a Certificates instance (user, computer or service). For more information regarding Certificate console View Options, see Certificates Console(https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=209851)

  2. On the Action menu, click Find Certificates.

  3. Enter the following criteria to find certificates:

    • The certificate store to search

    • Text to search for

    • The certificate field to search for the specified text. You can look for text in the Issued By, Issued To, MD5 Hash, Serial Number, and SHA1 Hash fields.

  4. Click Find Now.
