Reporting Options

Specify whether you want to receive performance or usage reports.
By default, after installing Windows Small Business Server 2003, members of the Domain Admins security group can view current performance and usage reports by clicking Monitoring and Reporting in Server Management.
If you want to send server performance or usage reports to recipients in e-mail, or if you want to grant other users permission to view the latest usage report from a page on your intranet, you must specify your reporting options on this page.

Performance report
To configure Windows Small Business Server 2003 to automatically send performance reports to e-mail recipients daily at 06:00 A.M., select the Receive daily performance reports in e-mail check box. You can specify the recipients when you continue with the wizard.

If you select this check box and there is already an existing performance report with the name "Server Performance Report," it will be overwritten. If the check box is cleared, an existing report will be deleted.
After completing the Monitoring Configuration Wizard, you can attach log files to the report, or change the default schedule by clicking Change Server Status Report Settings in the Monitoring and Reporting snap-in in Server Management.
The server performance report includes a predefined collection of information as outlined in the following table.

Lists the names of the five processes that currently consume the largest percentage of server memory. As a reference, this section also includes the percentage of memory consumed by other processes in the past 24 hours, and the total amount memory installed on the server. |
Top 5 Processes by CPU Time |
Lists the names of the five processes that currently consume the largest percentage of CPU time. |
Backup |
Indicates the results from the latest run of Windows Small Business Server 2003 Backup. |
Auto-started Services Not Running |
Lists services that have been configured to start automatically, but were not running at the time the report was run. |
Critical Alerts |
Provides detailed information that describes each critical alert that occurred in the last 24 hours. |
Critical Errors in Event Logs |
Lists critical errors that have occurred in the event logs in the last 24 hours. Details include information about the source of the error, the event ID, the time of the last occurrence, the total number of occurrences, and the associated error message, if any. |
Usage report
The server usage report provides statistics about how network clients can access and use the Internet, e-mail, fax, remote connectivity, and Outlook Web Access features.
Select the View usage reports in Server Management check box to allow specified users to view the latest usage report in Server Management. After completing the wizard, authorized users can view the report by clicking View Usage Report on the Monitoring and Reporting taskpad.

Select the Send me bi-weekly reports in e-mail check box to configure Small Business Server to automatically send the usage report to specified e-mail recipients, every other Monday at 06:30 A.M.
