New profile opens a tab

Question

Hi,

When I try to create a new profile in Edge the browser opens a new tab, not a new Edge instance. How to solve this? I can't create a new profile.

Did a complete Windows 11 reinstall from scratch - still the same issue

Try "repair" fonction.

Make sure that your browser is closed and that you have administrative rights to your device. If multiple users are logged in your device, make sure Microsoft Edge is closed for all users.

Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features.

In the apps list, select Microsoft Edge and then select the three little dots at the end of the line and select "Modify".

Now click on Repair and follow steps.

Thanks for your respons. Resetting Edge to default does not change anything, still the same error.

Next, recreate your profiles and at the top left, when you select the profile, check if a new window opens instead of a new tab.
