Azure Database for PostgreSQL: Stuck in Updating State After Compute Tier Change — Assistance Needed
Problem description
I initiated a compute tier change for my Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server in Sweden Central, moving from General Purpose (Standard_D2ds_v5) to Burstable (Standard_B1ms) using Azure CLI. Although the request was accepted, the server remains in the 'Updating' state and is unavailable since the operation started on 2026-10-18 at 16:51 UTC. No further updates or error messages have been provided, and the server has not returned to the 'Ready' state.
Environment
Azure Database for PostgreSQL flexible server in Sweden Central, with source tier Standard_D2ds_v5 and target tier Standard_B1ms.
What I've already tried
I submitted the compute tier change through Azure CLI; the request was acknowledged as accepted. I have not performed any additional update, restart, or stop/start operations since the initial change. I have verified that high availability was disabled prior to the change. Beyond that, I have not tried any troubleshooting steps.
Current status
The server remains in the 'Updating' state and is unavailable. I am seeking assistance to recover the provisioning workflow, either to complete the tier change or to revert the server to its previous state. Additionally, I want confirmation that my data and backups are intact once the server is operational again.
