Use this form to set up parameters for the Sales and marketing area.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Description |

General |
Set up default values for the selected fields. The default values that are defined in the fields are transferred to a newly created prospect. The defined default values are not transferred if the prospects were imported into the application. |
Documents |
Set up the document handling parameters. You can define the age limit of the document display in the Documents form and the mailing file directory, and you can select the various document types from the drop-down lists in the respective fields. |
Campaigns |
Set up default values for selected fields for newly created campaigns. |
Activities |
Define the default start time and end time for newly created activities. Define whether follow-up activities should be created automatically when you create certain types of records. Set up default values for activities that are created automatically based on certain specific actions. |
Transaction log |
Set up the transaction logging of all database transactions. Database transactions include Track new transactions, Delete, and Update actions. The default log period can also be set on this tab. Note Selecting many tables to be included in the transaction logs will adversely affect application performance, especially when you are working with large amounts of data and many transactions. |
Telephony |
Define the default activity type to be automatically created whenever an incoming or outgoing telephone call is registered. You can also define a prefix for outgoing telephone calls. |
Number sequences |
Define the number sequences that are required for the Sales and marketing area. |

Period code |
Select the period that you want information about. Periods are set up in the Period types form. |
Start date |
Select the default start date for prospect statistics and sales targets. |
End date |
Select the default end date for prospect statistics and sales targets. |
Create opportunity when qualified |
Select this check box to automatically create an opportunity record when a lead record is qualified. |
Create customer when qualified |
Select this check box to automatically create a customer record when a lead record is qualified. |
Create opportunity for sales quotation |
Select whether to create an opportunity record when a sales quotation is created. |
Create opportunity for project quotations |
Select whether to create an opportunity record when a project quotation is created. |
Update opportunity when sales quotation status changes |
Select whether to update an opportunity record when the status of a sales quotation is changed. |
Update opportunity when project quotation status changes |
Select whether to update an opportunity record when the status of a project quotation is changed. |
Language |
Select the default language for a new prospect when it is created in the Prospect details form. |
Customer group |
Select the default customer group for a new prospect when it is created in the Prospect details form. |
Vendor group |
Select the default vendor group for a new prospect when it is created in the Prospect details form. |
Currency |
Select the default currency code for a new prospect when it is created in the Prospect details form. |
Type |
Select the default prospect type for a new prospect when it is created in the Prospect details form. The prospect types are defined in the Relation types form. |
Opening time |
Enter the default opening hours of business for a newly created prospect. |
Closing time |
Enter the default closing hours of business for a newly created prospect. |
Status |
Select the default prospect status. |
E-mail group copy type |
Select how e-mail messages that are sent through e-mail groups are sent to the recipient. |
Open customer or vendor form on converting a prospect |
Select this check box to open either the Vendors form or the Customers form when a prospect of the corresponding type is created. |
Hide documents if older than |
Enter the upper age limit of the documents to be displayed in the Documents form. This upper age limit is defined as the present date minus the number (of days) in this field. If you enter 10, only documents created between 10 days ago and today will be displayed. |
Mailing file directory |
Select a directory to use for storing mailing files. |
Document type for incoming e-mail |
Select the document type to use when saving incoming e-mail messages as standard documents. Document types are set up in the Document types form. |
Document type for outgoing e-mail |
Select the document type to use when saving outgoing e-mail messages as standard documents. Document types are set up in the Document types form. |
Document type for other documents |
Select the document type to use when saving files by using the drag-and-drop feature. Document types are set up in the Document types form. |
Status |
Select the default campaign status. The status will appear when a new campaign is created in the Campaign form. |
Type |
Select the default campaign type. This will become the default campaign type when a new campaign is created in the Campaign form. |
Group |
Select the default campaign group. This will become the default campaign group when a new campaign is created in the Campaign form. |
Target |
Select the default campaign target. This will become the default campaign target when a new campaign is created in the Campaign form. |
Days campaign expires |
Enter the default number of days from the start date to the expiration date of a campaign. |
Days before follow-up |
Enter the default number of follow-up days from the start date to the follow-up date. Note Any automatic activities that are generated based on the campaign will use this field. |
User ID |
Select the default Web site user identification for creating campaigns that are broadcast on the Web and for gathering responses from the Web. |
External URL |
Select the default Web site that is associated with a campaign. This Web site will be used when you are using the Web broadcast functionality on the campaign form. |
Batch job default activity (field group) |
Create activity – Select whether activities should be created automatically when you create records by using a batch job. |

Track changes for (field group) |
Select the check box for each database record type that you want to include in the transaction log. Selecting many tables to be included in the transaction logs will adversely affect application performance, especially when you are working with large amounts of data and many transactions. |
Days to keep log |
Enter the age of the transactions to appear in the log tab pages for prospects and contact persons. The age is expressed in number of days. |
Track new transactions |
Select this check box to include insert transactions in transaction log. Insert transactions are transactions that insert a new record in the relevant table, for example, when you create a new prospect or campaign. |
Track deleted transactions |
Select this check box to include delete transactions in transaction log. Delete transactions are transactions that delete a record in the relevant table, for example, when you delete a prospect or campaign. |
Track updated transactions |
Select if the transaction log should create a new transaction log every time that an update is made; update the last record; or not create transaction logs when updates are made. |
Activity type for inbound calls |
Select the default activity type when an incoming telephone call is registered. |
Activity type for outbound calls |
Select the default activity type when an outgoing telephone call is made. |
Standard outbound phone number |
Enter a prefix to use with the telephone number for outgoing calls. |
Reference |
View the reference type. |
Number sequence code |
Select a number sequence to associate with the reference. Click Organization administration > Common > Number sequences > Number sequences. |
