When setting up SAML-based Single Sign-On (SSO) for an app registration in Azure AD B2C or Microsoft Entra ID, missing input fields in the SAML configuration typically occur due to one of the following reasons:
Mismatch in Configuration Context
- In Azure AD B2C, SAML configuration is supported for applications created as Enterprise Applications, not for regular app registrations.
- Make sure you’re configuring the SAML settings in the Enterprise Applications blade, not in the App registrations section.
SAML-based SSO in Azure AD B2C
Permissions and Role Access
- If you’re not seeing the SAML fields, check that you have the required permissions to configure SSO for the Enterprise Application.
- You need to be at least an Application Administrator or Cloud Application Administrator in the directory.
Migrating from ADFS or Existing SSO Configurations
- If you’re migrating from ADFS or an existing SAML-based SSO setup, ensure that the app’s configuration matches the SAML-based SSO requirements.

Where to Find the SAML Fields
- In the Azure portal, go to Azure Active Directory → Enterprise Applications.
- Choose your app and go to Single sign-on.
- Select SAML as the sign-on method, and you should see the following fields:
- Identifier (Entity ID)
- Reply URL (Assertion Consumer Service URL)
- Sign on URL
- Logout URL
- User Attributes & Claims
- SAML Signing Certificate
If these fields still don’t appear, it might be a UI glitch, or your app might not support SAML configuration natively. In such cases, you can:
Try another browser or incognito window.
Confirm that the app’s SSO method is explicitly set to SAML.
