Die SelectedIndices Auflistung ändert sich, wenn sich die Selected Eigenschaft eines ListViewItem ändert. Die Eigenschaftsänderung kann programmgesteuert erfolgen oder wenn der Benutzer ein Element auswählt oder die Auswahl eines Elements löscht. Wenn der Benutzer ein Element auswählt, ohne STRG zu drücken, um eine Mehrfachauswahl auszuführen, löscht das Steuerelement zunächst die vorherige Auswahl. In diesem Fall tritt dieses Ereignis einmal für jedes Element auf, das zuvor ausgewählt wurde, und einmal für das neu ausgewählte Element.
