Copilot in Dynamics 365 Customer Insights is powered by AI to provide you with insights that answer your questions. In an easy and accelerated manner, you can have a dialogue with your data. Ask questions using natural language to explore, analyze, and understand customer segment sizes and preferences. Analysts and marketers can engage directly with customer data and discover new information that they may not have been aware of.

This feature democratizes access to insights, allowing analysts, marketers, and sellers to ask questions using conversational language and receive instant answers, without needing to have the knowledge of SQL programming. Copilot removes the barriers to getting a deeper understanding of customers, enabling users to speed up and scale the delivery of hyper-personalized experiences that customers expect.

Instead of spending time on slicing and dicing the data, you can simply ask questions about your customers and then Copilot in Customer Insights analyzes your data sources to provide you with an answer rapidly and in natural language. It also will suggest questions to further explore your initial research.

After successfully importing and unifying your customer data, ask questions in natural language with the following functionality:

  • Question to SQL syntax: Transform your prompt automatically into a SQL query and run it on Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Extended insights: Generate additional insights that are related to your question.
  • Suggested questions: If you aren't sure how to get started, Copilot provides a list of suggested questions that help you create meaningful prompts as starting or extended questions to best explore your data.
  • Answer in natural language: Copilot provides you with a response in natural language within seconds.

For example, as a marketer, you may want to identify customers who reside in San Francisco, California, with a high customer lifetime value, who have also made a purchase in the last 90 days. Using your own natural language and a few clicks, Copilot in Customer Insights produces the results along with information such as the customers’ average age, product preferences, or average purchase price.

The feature also provides the SQL syntax and other explainability information for you to validate the result. Then, you can take informed business actions based on these insights such as configuring into a segment to support your marketing scenario.
