Why is my video washed out in Teams, but not other software?

When using MS Teams my video is washed out, every call any lighting. Specifically, my face is washed out and bright white. This is only in Teams, not Zoom or Slack. I use a Logitech 1080 HD camera. I've tried adjusting the two video settings in Teams but it doesn't help. I am not using a virtual or blurred background. Any insight as to why this is happening or ideas on a solution is appreciated.

    Hi @Jeff Schaefer

According to your case description, we may understand that you are having trouble using the camera in Teams but not in other software.

In this case, we recommend you try to follow these steps to see if it can be fixed:

    1. Use video filters: Use video filters to adjust brightness to suit your situation. User's image
    2. Check for updates: Please check your current Teams client version and make sure it is always up to date. (You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling Teams client. )
    3. Try using the web version of Microsoft Teams: You can try to log in to the web version of Microsoft Teams to see if you can use the camera normally.
    4. Check your application permissions: Please check if you assigned permissions that allow MS Teams to use the camera.

This response is not useful. The Teams app is horrible for managing webcam video quality. The worst thing is that adjustments are per-call adjustments, meaning that they are temporary, and the settings revert on the next call.
This is a terrible video device management design which could not possibly have been properly tested.

I have used three different webcam devices, all different manufacturers, and the results are effectively the same. Zoom calls look great. Google calls look great. WebEx calls look great. But Teams calls make me look like I have been trapped in a dark bunker for three years. Other people's video looks poor as well.
Teams has awful video quality. I have searched and found nothing but unhelpful responses like "make sure your Teams is the latest version" or "adjust the filters".

It would be great if Microsoft would finally fix this.

I suspect that the only REAL way to fix it is to find a webcam app that can run, somehow, in between Teams and the webcam to properly adjust the video settings.
