Every few days, VS 2019 informs me by a Notification that an update to "ML.NET Model Builder 2019" is available.

In Extensions, Manage Extensions, Installed, I find ML.NET listed and disabled. Buttons are available to enable and uninstall.

I am nervous about Uninstalling ML.NET because says "There are installed components that depend on this extension". Is it safe to uninstall ML.NET? Will uninstalling it make the notifications go away.

    Hello @Andrew Mercer,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I checked locally, didn’t get related notifications about "ML.NET Model Builder" extension.

If you uncheck "Automatically check for updates" and "Automatically update extensions" options under Tools => Options => Environment => Extensions, will the notifications disappear?

Is it safe to uninstall ML.NET?

It seems that you installed components that depend on ML.NET. Not sure which components you installed, since the message points this, it’s true that uninstalling ML.NET will affect those components.

But Model Builder is a UI tool that lets you build, train and consume custom machine learning models in your applications. Maybe you don’t need to use it(you can install ML.NET Model Builder again if you miss any component).

This document Uninstall Model Builder also shows the method to uninstall it, so uninstalling it should be safe.

Will uninstalling it make the notifications go away.

    It should be like that.

    Best Regards,

    Tianyu
