Automatic encryption label not applied to excel files created on SharePointOnline

We are considering a configuration where all files on SharePointOnline and local files are automatically encrypted.

We are having trouble because only the excel files created on Sharepoint are not automatically encrypted.

We would like to know if you have any knowledge on this matter.

We are currently using M365 E3 trial license.

We want to give two labels (encrypt and decrypt).

We would like the default encryption label to be applied automatically.

    Hi @admin2001 ,

    Are you talking about sensitivity labels?

    After my testing, create a new excel file in sharepoint and it will automatically add the default sensitivity label set by this library, same as any other type of file.

    It seems this is not a common issue per my test. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

    1.Try to use a different browser or your browser's InPrivate mode to see if the same error occurs.

    2.Are other users with permissions facing the same problem? View through another computer or account.

    3.Whether all SharePoint libraries have the same problem? You could create a new SharePoint library to check.

    4.Check if the same issue occurs with other SharePoint site collections.
