windows server 2012R2 re-activation

Question

Hi, Our company need to reformat our 2 servers with hyper V, done with the 1st server, how can we registered or activate it again using our previous license key? I have the screenshot of computer properties it needed.

Since you're using volume license product keys you should have also used volume center download so the channels line up. As a work around you can try using kms keys as intermediate step.

(below assumes 2012 R2 Standard)

Dism /online /Set-Edition:ServerStandard /AcceptEula /ProductKey:D2N9P-3P6X9-2R39C-7RTCD-MDVJX

then after reboot

(below using your volume product key)

slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
slmgr /ato

hi @Jenny Feng , i trying to execute this command, DISM /Online /set-ProductKey:W3GGN-FT8W3-Y4M27-J84CP-Q3VJ9 /AcceptEula but it's giving an error "setting the product key is not supported with online image", i guess i need to reformat again the server to run this command "DISM /Online /Set-Edition:ServerStandard /ProductKey:D2N9P-3P6X9-2R39C-7RTCD-MDVJX /AcceptEula"

To reactivate a Windows Server 2012 R2, you typically need a valid product key. These keys can sometimes be found through Microsoft partner-HypestKey
