Teams Audio Default

Anonymous

When I launch a Teams meeting, my default audio is Custom - one microphone and bluetooth/wireless earbuds (Liberty 2 Pro). The Mic works, but I get no sound. When I go into the Teams settings, and change the sound to a different speaker, and immediately change it back to the default - sound then works.

This only happens in Teams. My sound works in every other app (including Zoom).

And to be clear, I simply change the setting to something else and immediately change it back to where it was.

I've updated drivers., I've updated Teams. I've tried turning off Noise suppression.

Any ideas?

Hi Joanna. Thanks for the prompt reply!

I had previously tried clearing the cache. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Teams previously.

To be 100% sure, I just followed your instructions again - cleared the cache. Still have the same issue. :(

Every time I join a meeting, I have no sound (the mic works, but not the earbuds). I switch to a different speaker, switch back to the earbuds and it works.

    Hello Mitchell ,

My name is Joanna, I’ll be happy to help you out today.

Please try to clear the cache, refer to the link below for Windows and Mac.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteam...

To select the mic, speaker, and camera you want Teams to use for calls and meetings, select Settings and more Select to see more options next to your profile picture at the top of Teams and then choose Settings > Devices.

Under Audio devices, pick the speaker and mic you want Teams to use by default.

If you have multiple certified devices connected to your computer, you can set one as your secondary ringer, which means it'll ring when a call comes in. Answer incoming calls on any device—not just the ones that ring.

Please let me know if this doesn't work or if you need further assistance.

    Thank you.

    Thanks.

Yes, switching the speaker and then switching back forces Teams to make it work. that's the (quite annoying) workaround. Soundcore doesn't have any suggestions. It is clearly a Teams but, as that's the only app where I have this issue.

    Hi M,

As a workaround in the meeting, click on the 3 dots and show the Device Settings to verify that the Headphones are being recognized by Teams. You can try changing Headphone to Speaker and then back to Headphone to see if that forces Teams to recognize the headphones.

I would suggest submitting a feedback to the support engineer team of Microsoft so that they can include this in future releases.

You may also try to coordinate this with Soundcore for a possible solution thru the link provided previously on the number 4.

    Thank you.

Thanks for this suggestion. I just unpaired/re-paired the earbuds. Drivers are all up to date. Same issue.
