I started having problem to create a share link for a folder in my OneDrive in Window 11. I right clicked the folder and select share. A window popped up, but it just blanked - see below. I have tried reset, started and reinstalled OneDrive. And tried restarting my computer. But the problem persists. Please help.

    Hi, Sam Kong

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Sorry for this unwanted experience that you're encountering. Here are some workarounds you can try to resolve this issue:

    Fix the blank Share window

Try sharing from OneDrive on the web (works even if the desktop Share panel is blank).

    • Go to OneDrive.com, select your folder, choose Share, then set link options (Anyone/Specific people, Can edit/Can view), and copy/send the link.

Confirm OneDrive is running and the desktop app is the correct one.

    • If OneDrive isn’t running, the Explorer right‑click Share command won’t work; start OneDrive from Start menu (folder icon version) and try again.

Check account validation and sharing limits (can silently block sharing).

    • Validate your Microsoft account at the reputation check page, then retry sharing. If you recently hit sharing limits, they reset after 24 hours.

Ensure the content isn’t inside Personal Vault (cannot be shared).

    • Move items out of Personal Vault before sharing.

If you sign in with a work or school account, verify org policies.

    • Admins can restrict “Anyone” links or context‑menu sharing; try creating a link that’s limited to people in your organization or share from the web.

    Check Microsoft 365 service health.

    • Rarely, a service incident affects sharing UX. Review the Service Health portal and retry later if a OneDrive issue is shown.

    Language setting workaround (China/zh‑CN users).

    • If Windows is set to zh‑CN, certain OneDrive dialogs can be affected during GB18030 compliance updates. Temporarily switch OS language to another language, restart OneDrive, test sharing, then revert when finished.

    Tips

• Sharing options: “Copy link” is best for broad sharing; “Specific people” is best for private links with tracked access.
    • If a previous link stopped working after you moved/renamed the folder, simply create a new link. Hope this helps. Feel free to get back if you need further assistance.
