Microsoft 365 E5 Developer Subscription wrongfully flagged for policy violation

Hi,

My Microsoft 365 E5 Developer Program sandbox subscription has been

flagged for a policy violation and is scheduled for forced deactivation

on April 15, 2026 at 12:42:14 UTC.

I have not violated any usage policies. My OneDrive usage has been

minimal with no new file uploads or unusual activity.

I have already contacted Microsoft Support (Case: [Moderator note: personal info removed])

but received an AI-generated response that does not address my actual

situation. I need a human reviewer to manually investigate my account.

Details:

  • Subscription type: Microsoft 365 E5 Developer Program sandbox
  • Scheduled deactivation: April 15, 2026, 12:42:14 UTC
  • Reason cited: Policy violation (which I dispute)
  • Support case number: [Moderator note: personal info removed]

Could a Microsoft employee please help escalate this case to a human

reviewer before the April 15 deadline?

Thank you.

    Hi 蔡綺晴

I sincerely empathize with the situation you are facing. I fully understand that situation causes significant disruption and the urgency of regaining access cannot be overstated.

However, I would like to clarify my role and the nature of this platform to ensure your expectations are managed correctly. This community is a peer-to-peer support forum, we are moderators and contributors who provide guidance based on technical knowledge and experience. For security and privacy reasons, we do not have access to Microsoft’s internal administrative tools for this specific request.

Because this involves identity security, such requests are handled exclusively by the Microsoft 365 support team. This is a highly specialized department that follows a rigorous verification process to protect your data from unauthorized access, which is why it often takes several business days to complete.

I wish I had the tools to resolve this for you immediately, but as a moderator, I am constrained by the same security boundaries that protect all Microsoft 365 customers. We truly hope the Microsoft 365 support team reaches out to you sooner than the estimated timeframe.

Thank you for your patience and for understanding our role in this community.

Escalation to a human reviewer or direct intervention on a specific tenant or case number cannot be performed here. For an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) or policy-violation flag on a Microsoft 365 Developer E5 sandbox, the supported path is to work with Microsoft Support through the admin center and allow escalation on their side.

For policy-violation/AUP issues affecting SharePoint/OneDrive or tenant status:

    1. Use the Microsoft 365 admin center to open or follow up on the support request associated with the tenant.
    2. If the issue is related to SharePoint/OneDrive being blocked or restricted, go to the SharePoint Acceptable Use Policy page in the admin center and use Contact support there to ensure the case is routed correctly to the team that handles AUP enforcement and restoration.
    3. Provide Support with:
      • Screenshots of any banners or messages about policy violations or scheduled deactivation.
      • Confirmation that this is a Microsoft 365 E5 Developer Program sandbox and how it is being used (development/testing only).
      • Any relevant timestamps and correlation IDs from error messages.
    4. If the initial response is automated or does not address the AUP flag, reply in the same case and explicitly request escalation. Support can then escalate to the internal backend team that investigates and, where appropriate, removes AUP-based restrictions.

For Microsoft 365 Developer Program tenants specifically:

    • Developer E5 subscriptions are intended only for development and testing and are short-lived by design; Microsoft may require tenants to be recreated every 90 days. These tenants must not be used for production workloads or long-term data storage.
    • If the tenant is no longer needed, the Microsoft 365 Developer Program dashboard can be used to delete the profile, which will erase profile information and any data not backed up elsewhere.

If the concern is about billing or refunds (for example, if a paid Microsoft 365 subscription is involved separately from the free Developer E5 sandbox), use the Microsoft account billing support channel and the documented refund process. For subscription cancellation and refund eligibility, follow the steps in the Microsoft subscription refund article and, if needed, contact Microsoft Support via the Get Help / Contact Support flow.

Because this forum and tooling cannot access tenant data, verify status and deadlines directly in the Microsoft 365 admin center and continue working with the assigned Support agent on case 2604070030007975 to ensure it is escalated before the stated deactivation date.
