Sql server standard 2019 pricing

Dear sir/madam,

Please suggest sql server standard version 2019 for desktop which is having windows 10 64 bit, i5 processor 6 core and 16 gb ram.

There are 2 users on computer. (Admin+user)

Computer is stand alone, not in network.

Need to SQL for reporting and automatic mail facility is required.

For SQL License pricing question, I suggest that you can consult professionals in this area. please call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. Or you can go to Volume Licensing Service Center support. Please choose region/language and choose to call or have web. People there will help you more effectively.

By the way, SQL server licensing options are Server + CAL or Per Core.

The Per Core licensing option allows for unlimited users or devices to access SQL Server (both internally and externally).

When licensing SQL Server Standard under the Server + CAL option, customers must assign a license to the physical server hosting any operating system environment (OSE) running SQL Server and acquire a SQL Server CAL for each user or device that accesses the server.

Understood your answer but please confirm, if I am installing software on 6 core i5 processor then is it required to purchase 6 core lic?

If yes then please explain.

Fyi pc will be stand aloe and used by single user..

Hi @Nishikant ,

When running SQL Server in a physical environment, licenses must be assigned to all of the physical cores on the server. Licenses being sold in packs of two. So 3 SQL Server Per Core licenses (packs of 2) are required for 6 cores.

If you still confuse with this question, suggest you to consult Microsoft licensing specialist ( I mentioned above ) or read the blog that have detail license examples.
